The MDC Alliance leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has threatened to reverse the gains registered under the country’s sole ethanol blending project pledging to redistribute the company’s land if he wins the polls.
Advocate Chamisa made the remarks while addressing supporters in Chipinge where policy contradictions characterised the speeches of the alliance partners.
With the country’s ethanol project by GreenFuel being one of the leading and highly celebrated success stories under the public private partnerships aimed at reducing the ballooning fuel import bill, the MDC Alliance leader Advocate Chamisa has threatened that once elected into power he will repose that land for redistribution.
From hinting on his party wanting to lure investment once in power to suddenly flip flopping to pronounce threats of reposing the Chisumbanje ethanol green fuel land the inconsistency will certainly create uncertainty and scare away potential investors.
The MDC Alliance also presented its inconsistencies through policy contractions where presidential candidate Advocate Chamisa said once in power they will ensure all rural citizens will come into the big cities and get employed while alliance partner People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Tendai Biti in his address instead majored on the alliance wanting to develop rural communities through projects such as rural electrification and irrigation farming by drawing water from the Osborne dam that would ensure the rural population does not migrate to cities and become employees rather that define their own destiny.
Advocate Chamisa also warned that those who do not deserve constituencies will be recalled once the party wins, authenticating reports of conflicts on the credibility of candidates being seconded by political parties forming the alliance.
