Cephas Mashakada a popular musician was admitted at Chitungwiza General Hospital two weeks ago and is now battling for his life after his condition worsened.
The musician who is diabetic is also suffering from a chest infection that has seen him admitted at the intensive care unit.
Speaking after visiting the ailing musician on his hospital bed, Media, Information and Publicity Minister, Cde Webster Shamu implored Mashakadaâ€™s recording company to chip in and assist at this critical time.
Minister Shamu called on other musicians and the nation at large to pray for the musician.
Mrs. Eunice Mashakada, wife to the ailing musician said her family is going through a difficult time for her family but she however expressed her gratitude to the Chitungwiza Hospital staff where her husband is receiving treatment free of charge.
Cephas Mashakada was diagnosed with diabetes a few years back and the condition resulted in his left leg being amputated.
