Zanu PF National Political Commissar, Cde Webster Shamu has met four candidates vying for the Mashonaland West chairmanship and announced modalities for the elections to choose a substantive chairman next Saturday.
Cde Shamu said the elections will be held in each of the six districts in the province where 15 party members from each district will vote.
He also said each district will have five people occupying the top post in each of the party’s wing, adding that elections will be conducted at each district’s main offices.
National Executive members including those in the Central Committee and the National Consultative Assembly will not be eligible to vote.
Cde Shamu said the elections should strengthen intra-party democracy and show the world that Zanu PF respects the will of the people and that it does not impose candidates.
