The late national hero, Cde Misheck Velaphi Ncube has been described as a cadre with impeccable nationalist credentials.
While little has been said about him, Cde Velaphi Ncube, who died on Monday last week, is a man with huge achievements and his works are those of a larger than life cadre of the struggle.
Zanu PF Secretary for Administration, Cde Obert Mpofu outlined the history of the late national hero.
“All of us here got help from [Cde] Velaphi. Everyone knows his contribution to the nation during the liberation struggle,” said Dr Mpofu.
Having joined the struggle in 1962, the late national hero is regarded as one of the pioneer liberation movement cadres.
His training in Zambia and Egypt saw him take part in the famous Hwange battle.
Cde Ncube was declared a national hero on account of his vast contributions to the struggle. Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
Mourners are gathered at house number 70590 Lobengula West in Bulawayo.
He is survived by wife, Margaret Khumalo and five children.
