Cde James Hanyanisi who died on the 11th of this month and was accorded a liberation war hero status was buried today.
Cde Hanyanisi who joined the liberation struggle in 1977 and received military training at Chimoio in Mozambique was described as a dedicated Zanu PF cadre who remained committed to further national interests before and after independence.
The Deputy Director in the Office of the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Harare Metropolitan, Mr Ignatius Mungure, who spoke on behalf of Minister of State for Harare Cde Miriam Chikukwa described the late Cde Hanyanisi as a liberation war hero who exhibited leadership qualities whenever given a national duty to execute.
Family spokesperson Thomas Hanyanisi said the family has lost a leader and a unifier.
Born in October 1958, Cde Hanyanisi became involved in the liberation struggle in 1977 and was deployed to the front and fought under Takawira sector until cease fire in 1979.
Cde Hanyanisi became a non active member of the Zanu PF party due to illness.
He is survived by wife Nolliet and four children.
