congestion traffic 02.09.10.jpgThe Harare City Council and the Zimbabwe Republic Police say they will continue to work tirelessly to decongest the city centre.

The joint operation which was launched by the Harare City Council and the ZRP is set to continue until order has been restored to the capital’s CBD.

In an interview with ZBC News, Harare City Council Spokesperson, Mr. Lesley Gwindi said they are going to continue working closely with the ZRP in restoring sanity in the capital.

ZRP Harare provincial spokesperson, Inspector James Sabau said an adequate number of police officers has been mobilised to control transport congestion.

He urged motorists to avoid parking on undesignated areas.

A survey carried by ZBC News shows that the majority of commuter omnibuses were entering the central business district with ease as there were no police roadblocks on roads leading to the capital.

More than 300 commuter omnibuses which were not registered were impounded last year during the festive season.
