President in Namibia for SADC summit

president departs for namibia sadc summit 150810.jpgThe Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Robert Mugabe is in Namibia to attend the 30th Ordinary Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government that is centred on fostering and expediting regional integration.

 

The summit, which is being held under the theme ‘‘Towards Regional Integration’’ comes amid concerns over the slow pace of regional integration.

 

Issues to be looked at include the role of the Customs Union, the decision to hold tripartite meetings between COMESA, SADC and the East African community as well as the SADC Free Trade area.
