Zim junior gymnastics team scoops 15 medals

Zimbabwe’s junior gymnastics team returned home to a rousing welcome after claiming 15 medals at the Zone 6 Championships which ended in Namibia yesterday. The team amassed 11 bronze, 3 silver and two gold medals at Southern Africa’s Junior Gymnastics extravaganza. The private sector has been called upon to support local sport so as to contribute towards building and nurturing talent and skill in the country. As the curtain comes down on the country’s 2017 soccer season, the ZIFA Central Region Division 1 soccer league held its colourful award ceremony in Shurugwi to honour soccer players who distinguished themselves in the field of play this season. Guest of honour, TM Group Board Chairman, Mr Tinashe Manzungu implored the corporate world to contribute towards the development of local sports. ZIFA Central Region Board Chairman, Mr Phillip Kapeta said the awards ceremony serves as a platform to evaluate the performance of players.
