Lions invade Lupane

Lions said to be moving in groups of between 5 and 10 have invaded Gwayi Resettlement Scheme in Lupane District, Matabeleland North Province.   According to villagers who say they are now living in fear, the lions are believed to have strayed from the Hwange National Park.   At Mazvi village, under chief Mabhikwa, the lions killed 18 goats, a donkey and one cow in one night.   One night the lions are reported to have slept at Mazvi Primary School and were spotted by teachers the following morning, a few metres from their houses.   The villagers have however...
