Global child deaths reduced: MDGs report

mdgs3.jpgGreater commitment towards malaria and HIV control and measles immunisation, have reduced global child deaths from 12.5 million in 1990 to 8.8 million in 2008, according to the United Nations Secretary General’s Millennium Development Goals report for 2010, launched in Harare this Friday.

As the 2015 deadline to meet the Millennium Development Goals approaches, countries around the globe have made some progress in achieving the targets, including combating HIV and AIDS, malaria and other diseases.
