The Miss World Zimbabwe sashing ceremony has been held in Harare ahead of the finals scheduled for the 8th of this month in Goromonzi. With the countdown to the event having begun, the battle for survival has intensified for the beauty queens. The pageant has already received a major boost with all the parents giving their support and hailing the way the event is being organised. ZIFF kicks off

The Zimbabwe International Film Festival (ZIFF) kicked off on Saturday with a local film titled: ‘Cook Off.’ The 20th edition of the festival is running under the theme: ‘Narratives from Africa.’ Event coordinators said 50 films from Africa will be screened at this year’s event. ZIFF Trust Communications Coordinator, Privilege Kandi said they expect a high turnout on the festival given its focus on African films. New art gallery opens in Norton

A new art gallery has been opened in Somaby area of Norton.  The gallery is collaboration between Dzimbanhete Art and Culture Interactions and United States of America’s Cantica Tabacaru Gallery. the gallery is housed in a tall building being constructed overlooking a valley with the inscriptions Vox Populi which is Italian meaning of voice of the people. Representing Dzimbanhete Arts and Culture Interactions Chikonzero Chazunguza said this is a new baby in the arts industry which is going to be a centre for a number of arts exhibitions, while US artists spoke highly of the new centre. “We are happy about this collaboration and it’s a milestone achievement in the arts industry,” said Chazunguza.
