Mat North Presidential Youth Interface on this Friday

The Matabeleland North Presidential Youth Interface rally, which was postponed last week, will now be held this Friday at Somhlolo Stadium in Lupane. In a statement to the ZBC News, the Zanu PF National Secretary for Youth Affairs, Cde Kudzayi Chipanga confirmed the development, saying the rally is set for 21 July. Students fight against drug abuse

In an effort to fight against rising cases of drug abuse, early child marriages and pregnancies and HIV and AIDS, Nyameni High School has spearheaded the establishment of a Marondera district educational forum to come up with strategies to fight against the challenges. Nyameni High School head boy, Kundai Masache said the forum is meant to produce a learner who is disciplined, innovative and self reliant and free from drug abuse. An 18 member committee made up of students from Nyameni High, Nagle House, Corner Stone College, Cherutombo High, Mahusekwa High, Eagle Tanning, Rakodzi High, Marondera High and two members of staff was selected to lead the forum with Masache as the chairperson. Youth Interface rally venue to be finalised

The Zanu PF Secretary for the Youth League, Cde Kudzai Chipanga is in Lupane to attend the provincial inter district conference. Cde Chipanga is leading members of the national youth executive and has been warmly welcomed in the province by the provincial youth executive members. Zanu PF provincial youth chairman, Cde Mbongeni Dube said the venue has been chosen because of its centrality. The team has visited Somhlolo Stadium, which the youths have chosen as the venue for the Presidential Youth Interface rally. Parliamentary Interface conference begins in Bulawayo

Speaker of Parliament Honourable Jacob Mudenda has lashed out at the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and the Zimbabwe Human Rights Association for being under-represented at the ongoing two day Parliamentary Interface conference being held in Bulawayo. The conference dubbed, “Promoting Public Involvement in Parliamentary Business” has brought together civic society, traditional leaders and executive institutions. The speaker of parliament said all institutions invited are expected to be represented at the highest level and should take parliament business seriously. Honourable Mudenda inquired the whereabouts of the two heads of the organisation by name and was not amused by their absence. ZEC is led by Justice Rita Makarau and Mr Okay Machisa is the Director at Zimbabwe Human Rights Association. The conference is focused on civil society electoral reform petition presented to the conference led by the Justice Legal and Parliamentary Portfolio.
