Caps United were today seen off by a band of vibrant supporters at the Harare International Airport ahead of their crunch CAF Champions League encounter against Zamalek slated for this Friday.
It was an electric atmosphere at the airport where Caps United fans bade farewell to their team which departed for North Africa for a clash against Zamalek.
Like their legion of faithfuls, Makepekepe players Ronald Pfumbidzayi and Dominic Chungwa were equally confident ahead of their journey to North Africa.
Making their debut CAF Champions’ League group phase appearance, Makepekepe face arguably their biggest test when they clash against 5-time African champions Zamalek of Egypt.
Competing in a group also comprising Usm Alger and Ahli Tripoli, Makepekepe are hoping for a bright start which could go a long way in boosting the team’s confidence in the other subsequent encounters.
The Green Machine is Zimbabwe’s only representative on the African safari after Ngezi Platinum were eliminated in the CAF Confederation Cup.
