Monomotapa, CAPS United and Gunners, both entered into Saturday’s fixtures on 40 points but it was Gunners who managed to break loose after a 1-0 away win over Eagles at Rudhaka.

For CAPS United and Monomotapa their points tally remained  on 41 after a grueling battle at Rufaro.

CAPS United had the upperhand and drew first blood in the 19th minute through Clive Kawinga but the lead was short lived as Monomotapa reduced arrears with a thunderous blot in the 35th minute.

CAPS had countless other goals, scoring chances coming their way in the second half, but their finishing seemed lethargic and at the end it ensured a share of the spoils.

Monomotapa coach, Taurai Mangwiro lamented the lost chance to edge closer to the top leading pack on the log but counted his blessing in the single point while Moses Bambo Chunga felt his side can still run for a top 4 finish.

At Gwanzura Stadium, Shooting Stars aided their relegation survival fight with a 1-0 victory over Lengthens.
