A call has been made to the general public to support government initiatives as it strives to come up with measures that can revive the economy.

As the country is going through tough economic times characterised by price increases and artificial shortages, the church has challenged the country’s citizens to support government’s efforts.

In a statement, Dr Alexander Chisango of the Churches Forum for National Development underscored President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s statement that there is more gain after some pain.

Chairman of the forum Bishop Alfred Munyanyi encouraged the business world to continue operating citing that economic sabotage is a disservice to the country.

Meanwhile, the church pledged that it will continue to play its intermediary role in promoting unity and peace in the country.
