Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Minister Professor Amon Murwira has called for strong institutions that are driven by strong minded people determined to make a difference in the country’s development.
Professor Murwira was speaking at the Midlands State University (MSU) annual stakeholders interface meeting.
Addressing stakeholders at the MSU’s second annual interface meeting, Professor Murwira said Zimbabwean citizens do not deserve to be in poverty considering the nation’s abundant resources.
“As the country embarks on its journey to transform its economy only the strong willed will be required and those with a casual approach to duty are free to take a rest,” said Professor Murwira.
He says the ministry needs to reconfigure it’s higher and tertiary education so that it produces goods and services.
The stakeholders interface was attended by captains of industry and commerce, local authorities, students and community representatives.
