More than 13 countries are gathered in Tanzania for a sub-regional workshop on gender equality in the music industry.
Representatives from Zimbabwe, Uganda, Tanzania and Namibia among other countries have met in Tanzania in a bid to discuss gender issues affecting especially female artists in the music industry.
President of the Zimbabwe Musicians Union Edith Weutonga Katiji said among other things to be discussed during the workshop are the challenges faced by female artists that hinder them from doing their productions.
Other people who also attended the seminar said the workshop has helped in addressing gender equality issues that affects the growth of the music industry.
Meanwhile, a declaration will be established to help female musicians in Africa and way forward to help them achieve these programmes.
