The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Women Affairs toured the Zimbabwe Women’s Microfinance Bank in Harare this Thursday as part of its mandate to make sure that the bank caters for the needs of women in the country.

The bank is mandated to cater for the financial inclusion of all women in the country regardless of one’s background.

It is against this background that after touring the financial institution, the Chairperson of the portfolio committee, Chido Madiwa highlighted the need for the bank to be decentralised and be accessible across the country and to make it easier for women in all spheres to access the services of the women’s bank.

Among some of the key recommendations made to the parliamentarians is to help send the information about the bank to all the country’s districts and for the institution to act as an ambassador of women empowerment in the country.
