Zanu PF secretary for the disabled, Cde Joshua Malinga has implored people with disabilities to register in their numbers under the new biometric voter registration (BVR) and demonstrate to President Robert Mugabe that their constituency requires a standalone ministry come 2018 harmonised elections.

The calls by people with disabilities for the President to establish a fully fledged ministry of the disabled continue to grow and several representatives of the disabled community converged at the Zanu PF headquarters in Harare to come up with resolutions on the matter.

The meeting resolved that a massive mobilisation programme be conducted countrywide to ensure disabled people register under the BVR system and advocate in their numbers for a standalone ministry, said Zanu PF secretary for the disabled, Cde Joshua Malinga.

People with disability constitute about 10 percent of the estimated 14 million citizens in the country.
