A call has been made to empower young people with business knowledge and skills as they are the drivers of the economy to attain an upper middle status by 2030.
This emerged during a business debate organised by a local financial institution held in Harare on Saturday.
The debate coordinator, Mr James Chakanyuka noted that the initiative seeks to empower young people with skills which they can use to actively participate in the revamping of the country’s economy.
“Business skills and knowledge will help tackle the economic challenges which the country is facing,” said Mr Chakanyuka.
The local bank’s Marketing Manager, Joel Gombera said the future is in the hands of the youths.
“Youths must understand business management and this is key in the attainment of upper middle class economy,” he said.
29 schools participated at the business forum debate which aimed at equipping young people with the necessary business skills and knowledge critical in the development of the country.
