Bulawayo says it is ready to host the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Expo from the 5th to the 8th of September at the ZITF grounds.

The expo is the country’s premier tourism show where the whole world gathers in Bulawayo to explore the country’s hospitality, with international buyers taking part.

Mrs Beauty Bhulu, a representative of local operators, said they are honored to be a part of the tourism flagship expo and have already spruced up their facilities ready for Sanganai/Hlanganani show.

“We as Bulawayo operators we have managed to spruce up our facilities ready to receive guests and buyers during this year’s showcase where we are saying as Bulawayo and Zimbabwe, we want to connect with the world through buyers to market our facilities,” she said.

Mrs Bhulu said as tourism operators, they are happy that this year’s show comes at a time when the city’s water supply dams are spilling, an assurance on uninterrupted water supply, and reliable power supply which will allow guests to sample the city and the country’s hospitality.

She further challenged other service providers especially in the communications sector to ensure that their systems are at their best during the show for easy communication and interaction with the rest of the world.

The tourism sector is a multi-billion dollar industry the world over and is expected to impact on the national economy as the country works on President Mnangagwa’s vision of a middle income economy by 2030.

Zimbabwe also wants to market the country as a preferred tourist destination, attracting millions of visitors per year.
