Three women who were murdered by a Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) private have been laid to rest today at the Bulawayo West Park cemetery.
Scores of people attended the burial of Rita Nkomo (23), Nkosivumile Ncube (16) and Archly Phiri (21) to pay their last respects to the deceased.
The burial, which was initially set for yesterday, was moved to today following some unsolved family disputes.
On the 2nd of February, Carlos Chapeyema opened fire on the now deceased sisters, killing them on the spot.
An 18-months-old child survived the onslaught with serious wounds from gushots.
The suspect then tried to commit suicide by turning the rifle on himself but failed in his attempt, resulting in him sustaining seriously injuries.
Chapeyema appeared before the Bulawayo regional magistrate, Franklin Mkhwananzi at Mpilo hospital where he is under a heavy military police guard and was remanded to the 16th of this month.
