A farmer in Emganwini in Bulawayo has surpassed the expectations of many through her intensive market gardening project in the area, supplying a huge market with fresh produce.
Mrs Rosemary Moyo who owns a one and a half hectare piece of land that she transformed to a horticulture venture, producing high value crops such as maize, green pepper and tomatoes.
The farmer said since the start of the project she has gained a large stake of market confirmation that urban agric can be a factor in the national economy.
To ensure that the project is sustainable, Mrs Moyo drilled a borehole which is the lifeblood of thriving project given that treated water is expensive.
With such high productivity at a household level that eventually transforms the national economy, Mrs Moyo has so far created over 30 jobs for locals.
