Premiership entrants Bulawayo Chiefs are looking at beefing up their squad ahead of a 2018 top flight debut season after they were crowned Southern Region Division One champions this Wednesday.
Bulawayo Chiefs sealed their promotion ticket in style with six matches to spare after a 2-nil victory over Makomo at Hartsfields Rugby Grounds in Bulawayo.
An ecstatic head coach Thulani Sibanda, praised his boys for their top drawer performance and indicated that the task is now with the administrators to work on preparing the team for next year’s PSL campaign.
Sibanda also conceded that he will have to boost his team with more experience if they are to make a meaningful impact in the top flight league.
He noted the remaining fixtures will be used as a platform to give the club’s fringe players an opportunity to prove their worth going forward.
Bulawayo Chiefs has qualified for the top flight before, only to sell their franchise to Bantu Rovers in the process.
Judging with the quality in the team, it will be hoped they will this time have a flirtation with the big boys in the premiership.
Fortune Nkomazana’s 17th minute strike and perfect Chingwende’s 28th minute goal earned the Bulawayo side the all-deciding victory.
