The Bulawayo business community is optimistic that government’s sincere approach to investment and business issues will lure foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country.
The way people have changed their attitudes towards doing business and the new approach by government is being viewed as critical to the transformation of the country into an investor friendly nation that embraces foreign investors.
In an interview with the ZBC News chief executive officer of the Association for Business in Zimbabwe Mr Victor Nyoni said the new government of President Emmerson Mnangagwa has opened new opportunities for business people as they are now interacting with the international community on a number of joint venture partnerships.
Mr Nyoni however said what is now needed is the business community’s ability to negotiate good deals with foreign investors given the desperate situation that the country is facing in terms of evaluation of business.
He implored the business community to take full advantage of the government support and negotiate good deals that can sustain their operations while at the same time opening new markets for Zimbabwean products to improve on exports.
