Zanu PF Mt Pleasant constituency is targeting at least 18 000 members to register under the second phase of the biometric voter registration (BVR) programme ahead of this year’s harmonised elections.
This was revealed at the Mt Pleasant constituency interdistrict leadership meeting held today.
12 000 members have registered so far in the constituency under the BVR programme.
The Zanu PF leadership must continue encouraging the electorate to register under the BVR process said legislator for Mt Pleasant Cde Jason Pasadi.
Harare provincial youth chairperson Cde Godfrey Gomwe said they have since embarked on BVR awareness campaigns to reach out to those who have not yet registered.
Women’s League Harare Province chairperson Cde Ratidzo Mukarati urged Zanu PF party members to rally behind President Emmerson Mnangagwa in this year’s harmonised elections.
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has extended its mobile voter registration exercise by one month from the 10th of January to February 8.
