The Constitutional Court ruling dismissing the MDC Alliance presidential petition has been welcomed by the business community and miners in Zvishavane.
The euphoria surrounding the ConCourt decision to uphold President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s 30 July victory has not only heralded a new era in the country’s democracy, but it has brought jubilation in policy continuity for the business community who were riding on the “Zimbabwe is open for business” mantra.
“We hope to take use of the friendly environment created by the new dispensation,” said Pote General Manager, Mr Thamson Mthombeni.
Miners say they welcome the move as any other outcome would have jeopardised implementation of programmes in the sector.
“We hope to continue receiving support from the President,” Mberengwa Miners Association Organising Secretary, Matson Shumba, said.
President-elect Emmerson Mnangagwa will be inaugurated this Sunday at the National Sports Stadium following the ConCourt ruling.
