Harare residents from Waterfalls and Sunningdale suburbs are going for some days without the water owing to burst pipes resulting in the loss of treated water.

Residents are concerned by council’s delay to service the bursting pipes which are causing a loss of large volumes of already treated water while rate payers are going through a dry spell especially with the holidays around the corner.

Those in the construction industry and car wash industry are taking advantage of the water burst hence undertaking their operations near the river despite environmental hazards they pose.

The residents from the nearby suburbs have also resorted to washing their clothes in the river thereby posing environment threats.

With the rate at which the bursts are happening, a noble mind may be forced to think how many cubic litres of treated water are being wasted in an hour and later on per day.
