Ambitious City of Kings Division 1 outfit, Bulawayo Chiefs is just two points away from landing the championship that guarantees promotion into the top flight league.

High riding Bulawayo Chiefs have been on cruise control, knocking down all opponents this season as they are yet to record a loss with just 6 matches remaining.

Only needing two points to claim the title, Chiefs will this time be expecting to compete in the premiership after they opted out in 2012 despite winning the Southern Region Division 1 league owing to financial challenges.

The side has always been a regular figure in the quest for promotion, only missing out by a goal difference last season to Bantu Rovers despite having their campaign disturbed by a tragic accident that left a number of players injured.

Head coach, Thulani Sibanda who is a last year Sports Science student at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) is assisted by a Sports Science graduate in Mduduzi Mpofu.

‘Thuts’ as Sibanda is affectionately known does not read much into the prospect of finishing the season without tasting defeat but said is more concerned with gaining promotion to the premier league.

Chiefs could wrap up their promotion if they can manage a victory against Makomo in a match set for Hartsfields rugby grounds this Wednesday.
