Bulawayo born musician Japhet Mlauzi also known as Hwabaraty continues to torch the City of Kings and Queens.

The artist who calls his music, Bulawayo music, is now working on his third album and says he appreciates the support fans have given him.

Hwabaraty’s came onto the music scene in 2009 with his debut album Ekasi Lam` which had a kwaito/hip-hop sound and was a dedication to the youth.

The artist says the album was well received despite it being an exploration of his potential with songs like ‘Ngizo Fika Laphe`ngiya Khona’ proving popular.

The second album ‘Woza Nhlanhla’ was released in 2016 and it marked a new chapter as it featured collaborations with award winners such as Jays Marabini, Vusa Mkhaya, Sandra Ndebele, Noma Nkwali and Qeqeshiwe Mtambo.

When asked where the name Hwabaraty came from, the artist revealed his stage name hails from the Batswana and that he calls his music Bulawayo music.

Hwabaraty says he is enjoying his place in the sun and the numerous requests for his songs on radio has inspired him to start working on a third album.
