Defense and War Veterans Minister Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri has expressed gratitude to residents of Buhera south following their relief aid contributions to Cyclone Idai victims in Chimanimani and Chipinge.
The strength of any society is measured by the level of selfless love its members show to each other and residents of Buhera south have shown just that after the community mobilised relief aid channeled towards Cyclone Idai victims.
The goods which include clothes, blankets, bags of maize among other materials where this Monday (today) handed over to Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri and Minister of Public Works, Labour and Social Welfare Honourable Sekai Nzenza by area legislator Cde Joseph Chinotimba.
Upon receiving the items, the Defense and War Veterans Minister described the gesture as show of unconditional sacrifice given the fact that Buhera south was also affected by the cyclone.
The sentiments were also shared by Minister Nzenza who said government will make an effort to reward the community for the gesture especially now when it is faced with a severe drought.
The commitment and show of sacrifice comes even as Buhera south was equally affected after at least 1 853 houses were lost to the floods while a critical bridge, Nyade which links the road network in the constituency was also affected by the catastrophic Cyclone Idai.
