The body of the late former President, Cde Robert Mugabe has arrived at the Robert Mugabe International Airport in Harare from Singapore following his death on Friday last week.
The President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa led thousands of Zimbabweans who gathered at the Robert Mugabe International Airport to welcome the body of Zimbabwe’s founding father.
A high-powered delegation led by Vice President Kembo Mohadi comprising of senior Zanu PF and government officials, as well as close relatives of the former President, had gone to Singapore to prepare for the repatriation of the late revolutionary icon.
On Thursday the 12th and Friday the 13th of September, the body will be taken to Rufaro Stadium in Harare to give Zimbabweans an opportunity to bid farewell to the late founding President of post independent Zimbabwe.
On Saturday, the body of Cde Mugabe will be taken to the National Sports Stadium in Harare where Heads of States and Zimbabweans will pay their last respects.
Burial of the late revolutionary icon is scheduled for Sunday the 15th of this month.
