Brazilian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mrs Anna Maria Morales says her country is ready to assist Zimbabwean professionals undertake specialised programmes under the presidential scholarship programmes in Brazil.
Ambassador Morales said this when she paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Government Scholarships in the Office of President and Cabinet, Dr Christopher Mushohwe in Harare today.
The Ambassador noted that her country has strong relations with Zimbabwe which will be furthered with support in specialised educational programmes like agriculture, mining, health and technology.
“It is good for the students to specialise in these programmes in order to assist the nation with knowledge and we are willing to work with Zimbabwe,” she said.
Dr Mushohwe thanked the Brazilian government for the support, adding that his ministry will ensure that Zimbabwean professionals benefit in sharpening expertise in selected spheres.
“We are very happy since we are going to have experts in the country for different specialised programmes,” he said.
Brazil has supported Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector under the Brazil More Food for Africa programme.
