More praise continues to pour for Zimbabwe’s new bowling star, Brian Vitori who yesterday broke the world record of taking the most number of wickets in his two first ODI’s.Two five star performances by Zimbabwe’s fast left arm seamer, Vitori have sent shock waves across the cricket fraternity.
Already the 21 year-old speed merchant has engraved his name in the record books by becoming the highest wicket taker in his first two international outings, surpassing the eight claimed by South African legend, Allan Donald 20 years ago.
Former Zimbabwean bowler, Dirk Viljoen and cricket analyst Brian Goredema have both hailed the bright start by Vitori.
Vitori whose second 5 wicket haul saw him scoop a second successive man-of-the-match accolade, received a standing ovation after he helped Zimbabwe bowl out Bangladesh for 188 runs.
Speaking to local and foreign journalists following his landmark achievement Vitori remained humble.
With Zimbabwe having struggled to find a strike bowler in the mould of Heath Streak and Henry Olonga in recent years, the coming on board of Brian Vitori seems to be the answer to the missing link.
