mombe.jpgVisiting Highlanders derailed Motor Action’s drive towards their maiden Premiership title after holding them to a goal less draw at Motor Action Sports Club a result that might see a photo finish as second placed Dynamos are now level on points after beating FC Victoria 3-1 Mucheke Stadium.

It is game-on in the championship race, after Bulawayo giants Highlanders played spoilers to snatch a point away from home.

While Highlanders might have needed the three points, it was the Mighty Bulls who needed them more as closest rivals Dynamos kept the heat on after picking up a vital set of three points away at FC Victoria in Masvingo.

The story at Motor Action Sports Club in a match watched by probably the biggest crowd at the stadium this year was a tale of failed attempts as a subdued Bulls outfit struggled to penetrate Bosso’s defence.

Edward Tembo was the only glimmer of hope for the home side but his courage was not enough to find the elusive goal.

Highlanders too grappled for a goal but the strike force lacked the sting to break the deadlock.

After the draw, Motor Action mentor, Joey Antipas, still had a brave face saying his charges will be on till the last fixture.

For the unbeaten Mkhupali ‘Mr Cooper’ Masuku, the draw confirmed it was time to surrender on his dream for a possible league title.

The story by end of day however confirmed the race will be taken to the wire.

Motor Action and Dynamos are now tallied on 60 points but the Mighty Bulls’ lead the log standings by virtue of a superior goal difference of +2.

Elsewhere, Caps United, ran riot demolishing Eagles 4-1 at Gwanzura Stadium while at Rufaro, Gunners were shocked 2-0 by Kiglon.
