Workers at Blue Ribbon Industries are up in arms with the company’s management claiming they have not received salaries for four months.

The workers at the milling firm claim that apart from not being paid for the past four months, others have been sent on forced leave.

The company’s General Manager identified as a Mr Tarurwira refused to speak on camera but confirmed that the milling firm is experiencing challenges which he attributed to unavailability of liquidity to improve operations.

He referred questions to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Mike Mauya, who was said to be in Bulawayo.

Blue Ribbon Foods Industry is one of the leading grain millers in the country and at one point had to close operations at its Bulawayo plant owing to funding constraints.

The milling company, which also owns a soccer club in the country’s top flight league, has been facing constraints due to lack of working capital.
