Blue chip counters recorded massive gains that resulted in the two trading indices closing with marginal gains.

The industrial index moved up by 0.39 points to close at 138.47 points in thin trading while the mining or resource index rose by 0.31 points to end at 53.94 points.

First Mutual Holdings added 0.77 cents to close at 6.82 cents, Old Mutual gained 0.66 cents to close at 352.50 cents and Barclays ended 0.024 cents higher at 3.00 cents.

Axia improved by 0.10 cents to settle at 7.00 cents and Delta increased by 0.09 cents to trade at 86.09 cents.

FBCH, Innscor and NMBZ rose by 0.02 cents each to trade at 8.02 cents, 45.00 cents and 3.32 cents.

On the mining’s or resources RioZim gained by 0.40 cents to close at 34.05 cents.

Bindura, Falgold and Hwange remained unchanged.
