The Harare Volleyball League, which began its second round of matches over the weekend, has been thrown into disarray following the withdrawal of half of the teams due to non-payment of affiliation fees.

The move has seen the league doing away with fixtures and crafting a pool system of five teams to square off with the last set to face the dreaded chop to accommodate the five incoming teams.

Harare Volleyball League Secretary General, Stephen Charakupa confirmed the development though pouring cold water to the situation.

The men’ section saw Stallions, Black Rhinos, Yadah, PPU and Thunder pulling out, while Morris Depot were suspended for violating the league’s standing rules in fixture fulfillment.

The ladies section saw Yadah and J.S Harare stars pulling out.
