biti presenting budget.jpgEconomists have called upon the Minister of Finance, Mr Tendai Biti to prioritise the agricultural and manufacturing sectors in his mid-term budget.  

In an interview with ZBC News, economic commentator, Mr Rutendo Rutendo said Minister Biti, who cannot rule out a supplementary budget prioritise key sectors of the economy such as agriculture and manufacturing in his mid-term budget.

“The minister must prioritise the agricultural and manufacturing sectors for local industry to compete with the region and attract foreign direct investment.

Economic analyst, Mr Jonathan Kadzura said the country’s economy is agro based hence its financing should be given priority.

The country’s industry and the agricultural sector have been haunted by lack of  capital to expand operations, hence expectations are high that the Mr Biti will give priority to economic drivers.
