Economists have called upon the Minister of Finance, Mr Tendai Biti to prioritise the agricultural and manufacturing sectors in his mid-term budget.Â Â
In an interview with ZBC News, economic commentator, Mr Rutendo Rutendo said Minister Biti, who cannot rule out a supplementary budget prioritise key sectors of the economy such as agriculture and manufacturing in his mid-term budget.
â€œThe minister must prioritise the agricultural and manufacturing sectors for local industry to compete with the region and attract foreign direct investment.
Economic analyst, Mr Jonathan Kadzura said the countryâ€™s economy is agro based hence its financing should be given priority.
The countryâ€™s industry and the agricultural sector have been haunted by lack ofÂ capital to expand operations, hence expectations are high that the Mr Biti will give priority to economic drivers.
