biti tendai.jpgThe Bulawayo business community has called on the Minister of Finance, Mr. Tendai Biti to spell out clearly the accessibility of the US$40 million fund meant for distressed companies in this year’s budget.
Chairperson of the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce Bulawayo Chapter, Mrs Ntombienhle Moyo, said Minister Biti has not clarified how companies can access the funds despite its launch a month ago.

Mrs Moyo said a large percentage of the budget should be allocated to the Ministry of Education, Art, Sport and Culture to upgrade the education sector.

The Bulawayo business community is also advocating for a reduction in the duty of raw materials and machinery as well as pay as you earn to increase disposable income.

Minister Biti is expected to announce a US$3,4 billion budget this Thursday.
