roy_bennet1.jpgHigh court judge justice Chinembiri Bhunu has reserved judgment in the case of MDC treasurer Roy Bennett who is facing charges of banditry, sabotage and terrorism.

After hearing submissions from both the defence and the state, justice Bhunu reserved his judgment saying he needs more time to go through the papers.

The defence is arguing that there is no evidence that suggest that Bennett committed the offence while the state insists that the accused has a case to answer.

Bennett is alleged to have sponsored the purchase of weapons of war for the purposes of terrorism.

The weapons were found in possession of Peter Michael Hitchman who was convicted of the offence and has since served his jail term.
