Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment Minister, Cde Saviour Kasukuwere, has urged the Christian community to take initiatives which will enable them to benefit from opportunities created by the current indigenisation and empowerment drive.
Cde Kasukuwere said this when he was addressing members of the ZAOGA Professional Business Network (PBN) during the launch of a trust fund which caters for emerging business people intending to invest in money markets.
He said the Christian community should not be left out in exploiting the country’s resources, as legislation has paved way for locals to join the indigenisation drive.
Cde Kasukuwere said Christians can emulate the Muslim world which has developed financial institutions which serve Muslims’ particular needs.
The PBN Trust Fund unveiled will create a platform for small to medium entrepreneurs and the youth belonging to ZAOGA, Professional and Business Network to make investments which will accumulate interest.
Kingdom Asset Management Managing Director, Mr. Peter Kadzere, said investment to the fund is as low as US$100 which is comparatively lower than the minimum amount accepted by other money market investment funds.
Several interest groups have created investment vehicles for the purposes of investing in various sectors under the indigenisation and empowerment drive spearheaded by government.
