Beach Soccer Zimbabwe Secretary General, Chris Nhapi believes spreading the game in schools and in all the country’s provinces is key if Beach soccer is to gain popularity in the country.
With the introduction of beach soccer having sparked great interest, Nhapi has emphasised the need for the game to be introduced within schools and in all provinces.

Nhapi was speaking on the sidelines of a coaching clinic conducted by Marcelo Mendes who is a top FIFA instructor from Brazil.

Zimbabwe Football Association Board Member Competitions, Benedict Moyo said the local football governing body would take the sport seriously and help promote the game.

Sixty participants were present at the high level coaching course which ran at Prince Edward from Monday to Friday.

Apart from the coaching course was also a refereeing course conducted by Nigeria’s Sunday Okayi.

Beach soccer is a game with a wide popularity in Brazil.

The game is played by bare-footed players with each team consisting of five players including a goalkeeper.

While there is a limitation on the number of substitutions in traditional football, beach soccer has an unlimited number of substitutions.
