Young people have been called upon to strengthen their moral fibre and play an active role in steering the country’s economic renaissance.
At a youth festival held to mark the 7 billion people on the planet, Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment Minister, Saviour Kasukuwere called on young people to play a more active and prominent role in the nation’s economic development.
Cde Kasukuwere also castigated elements who have suggested that condoms be distributed in schools saying such an idea is unacceptable.Â
A programmes officer for the non-governmental organisation which coordinated the festival, Miss Vimbai Mlambo, said young people’s relevance to a growing population is centred on greater lobbying for government and other stakeholders to support their quest for self development.
The world population recently hit seven billion with experts calling for a greater devotion of more resources to increased global industrial productivity.
