The search for more bodies of miners trapped at Silver Moon and Cricket mines in Battlefields near Kadoma is continuing, with teams having been dispatched underground to carry out a further search for more bodies.
The search has so far brought out 24 bodies since the exercise began yesterday morning.
Eight of the trapped miners were rescued yesterday morning after spending four days trapped underground and without food and drinking water.
Zimbabwe Miners Federation President, Henrietta Rushwaya called on the government to formalise operations of artisanal miners to promote safe work place practices.
She said formalisation of the informal mining sector will help enforce adherence to operational standards and reduce mining accidents.
Meanwhile, seven of the eight rescued miners who were taken for medical attention have been discharged from hospital.
