Battle lines have been drawn for the second National Draughts Championship set for Kadoma on the 25th of March.
The Zimbabwe National Draughts Federation (ZNDF) will stage the second National Draughts Championship this weekend in Kadoma with top draught players set to wrestle the championship currently held by Clifford Tsamba.
ZNDF secretary general Thomas Njanike said its all systems go for the national competition which is expected to produce five draught players for the African Draught Championships set for Malawi from the 9th to the 14 of July.
“Everyone is raring to go for the bigger event. We have lowered participation fees to include every member of the society,” he said.
The national championships will feature a category of people living with disabilities for this year’s edition.
Njanike said their effort to engage the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education hit a brick wall as they were pushing for the sport to be played at grassroots level.
