court.jpgThe trial of convicted car jacker and armed robber Luckmore Matambanadzo has been further remanded to Monday next week. Matambanadzo is facing charges of armed robbery.

 

He is currently serving a 12 year jail term after he was convicted of another charge of armed robbery.

 

Matambanadzo was last year given a 1000 bail after he successfully applied for bail pending appeal however since he was given the bail by a High Court Judge; Matambanadzo has failed to raise the bail and is still serving his jail term.

Meanwhile, a 53- year- old Caledonia man Lazarus Kanyongo is facing charges of raping a ten year old girl.

 

It is alleged that on 22 March this year the accused met the complainant at a borehole in Caledonia and Kanyongo is alleged to have asked the ten year complainant to fetch water for him to his home.

 

It is further understood that upon arrival the accused Kanyongo pulled the complainant into his bedroom threatened her with death before raping her. 

 

The offence was discovered a week later after the complainant’s mother noticed that the complainant had difficulties in walking.

 

The matter was reported leading to the arrested of the accused.
