guns.jpgPolice in Bulawayo have shot and killed an armed robber Shepherd Mhizha alias Major Sanyati Samanenji who was part of a five member syndicate.

It is alleged Mhizha was part of the syndicate which terrorised Bulawayo’s western suburbs in acts of robbery.

On the 23rd of this month, following a tip off from the public, detectives tracked Shepherd Mhizha who was driving a VW POLO.

Upon realising that he was being followed by the police, Mhizha fled before he was involved in an accident in Luveve.

It is alleged that Mhizha jumped out of his car holding a pistol and fired at the police who fired back and shot him.

Police managed to recover a CZ pistol with five rounds and two other pistols.

Mhizha was rushed to United Bulawayo Hospitals where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Four more members of the syndicate, Fanuel Muchineripi alias Tafadzwa Mukamba, Farai Sabawo and two others known as Costa from Chitungwiza and Douglas Zvishavane are still at large.

The police are advising members of the public who might know the whereabouts’ of these men to call the CID homicide Bulawayo on landline 09-71568 or any nearest police station.
