Meanwhile, the Governor and Resident Minister for the Midlands province, Cde Jason Machaya, is set to launch the Anti-sanctions Petition Campaign in the Midlands capital, Gweru, on Saturday at the Civic Centre open space at 9am.

Cde Machaya called on the people in the province to come and append their signatures to the petition to show the world that illegal sanctions must go as they are hurting Zimbabweans and crippling the economy.

Midlands province is the country’s industrial and mining hub, but currently most of the mines and industries have closed down due to the illegal sanctions imposed on the country by Britain and its western allies.

Politburo Member, Cde Tsitsi Muzenda, urged all women to come in their numbers to sign the petition as they are the most affected in areas of health and transport.

She said sanctions affect all Zimbabweans regardless of political affiliations.
