andy-brown-rasta-hat.jpgMusic icon, Andy Brown, has been laid to rest next to his mother’s grave in his rural home in Chovengwa Communal Lands in Mberengwa District.

Relatives and friends described Andy’s death as a loss, not only to the family, but to the nation at large.

Member of the House of Assembly for Mberengwa West, Cde Jorum Gumbo said the district has lost a role model for many youngsters in the constituency.

Patron of the Zimbabwe Union of Musicians, Cde Webster Shamu urged people to draw lessons from Andy’s life, describing him as a humble person who had respect for cultural values and norms.

Cde Shamu appealed to the media to stop dwelling on the negative aspects of musicians, but instead celebrate their rich history and immense contribution to the country.

Present at the burial was Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Media, Information and Publicity, Cde George Charamba, Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Rugare Gumbo and Mahendere brothers, among others.
